School Counseling Services at Cetronia

Hello! My name is Lori Fitch and I am the school counselor at Cetronia Elementary School.  This is my first year at Cetronia; however, this is my 25th year as a school counselor.  I have worked grades K-12, and I am very happy to return to the elementary level.  Additionally, I am also a practicing licensed professional counselor.  I am so grateful to be working with the students, parents and staff in this community! I hope you find this page helpful in understanding my role as a school counselor and the services that are provided. I am happy to discuss any concerns or questions you may have. Feel free to contact me by phone or email.

Individual Counseling

School counselors meet with students individually to facilitate their growth and development through the exploration of feelings and issues that are impacting their life.  Students can request “talk time” with meby asking their teacher.  Parents and teachers can also refer a student for individual counseling.

Small Group Counseling

Small group counseling (also known as “lunch bunch”) is a great way for students to learn together and develop a variety of skills in a small group setting. Students bring their lunch to my office where they learn skills in a fun environment! Common topics for small groups are: respect/responsibility, social skills, anger management, mindfulness, coping skills and friendship.

Classroom Lessons and Class Chats

Large group instruction offers an opportunity to provide support to the largest number of students in the school.  This is one of my favorite things to do because I truly value the “face time” I get with all the students. Lessons presented are developmentally appropriate for students in kindergarten through fifth grade.
